The Daily Spotter

Hello there. A slow Sunday is a good moment to do the math: a Marketplace builder has worked through HubSpot's new seats and credits pricing line by line, and a HubSpot rep joined the thread. Elsewhere, an app partner lists the API gaps left before the 2027 cutoffs, and HubSpot-hosted domains move to TLS 1.2 on Wednesday.

In today’s newsletter, we’ll get into:

  • Since Oct 1, new EMEA customers pay for seats and credits instead of hubs; existing customers cannot opt in yet, so it is worth modelling before your next renewal.
  • An app partner found 22 of 24 legacy endpoints with a date-based replacement, but no clear path yet for the utk contact lookup or parts of the Files API.
  • HubSpot raises the minimum TLS version on hosted domains to 1.2 on Oct 14, with no action needed, and a free Agent Hub coaching session for admins runs Oct 20.

GROW & CONVERT

💶 What seats and credits pricing could mean for your bill. A Marketplace app builder broke down the new seats and credits pricing: since Oct 1, new EMEA customers pay for GTM seats from 20 euros on Starter, 100 on Pro and 175 on Enterprise, plus credits at 0.01 euros each. Existing customers cannot opt in. Their tip: count people, not seats, and compare whole invoices. A HubSpot rep in the thread agreed heavy email senders may pay more.

🤖 HubSpot published AEO playbooks for ten marketing roles. On Thursday the HubSpot Marketing Blog posted a set of answer engine optimization guides split by role, from content strategists and demand generation to enterprise brand teams and digital PR. The guide for marketing agencies starts from a familiar problem: clients have seen competitors show up in AI answers and want to know what their agency is doing about it.

🏠 Can you email homeowners found in public records? A Florida real estate agent on HubSpot's free CRM asks what prospecting HubSpot allows when owner details come from county property records, matched to emails and phone numbers with an outside tool rather than a bought list. The questions are practical: can these contacts live in the CRM, must intro emails go out one by one from a connected inbox, and when can repliers join a marketing list?

MONEY & OPS

🎯 Set up the Leads object in about two minutes. HubSpot Academy posted a short walkthrough for setting up leads. Review or adjust lead stages under Settings, Objects, Leads, Pipelines, then turn on the Automate tab settings so stages update as you talk to leads. Create leads from selected contacts and send them to the sales workspace, where the Leads tab tracks stages, hot leads and AI summaries.

🗂️ How do you keep the whole marketing plan in one view? A marketer asks how teams map strategy to day-to-day work: quarterly focus, campaigns and messages, channels from email to Meta Ads, content plans, planned versus actual budgets, and seasonal timing. A spreadsheet gets unwieldy fast, and they are open to tools outside HubSpot. If you have a working setup that ties the roadmap to execution, the thread is asking for real examples.

TOOLS & WORKFLOWS

🧭 An app partner maps the API gaps before the 2027 cutoffs. The team behind several HubSpot apps checked 24 legacy endpoints against the new date-based versions. Twenty-two have a 2026-09 reference page, but the utk contact profile lookup has no equivalent, and the Files reference lists only six operations. They also found the changelog and the Migrations tab disagree on cutoff dates, and ask whether deadlines move if replacements are late.

📧 Custom marketing email properties cannot be read by API. A developer can list custom properties on marketing emails but not read their values: the Marketing Emails API ignores them and the CRM objects API rejects the email object. Another member confirmed it is UI-only for now. Their workaround is a custom report on the Marketing emails data source with the property as a column, exported, or a mapping table on your side.

ON THE CALENDAR

🔒 HubSpot-hosted domains move to TLS 1.2 on Wednesday. As announced in the developer changelog, on Oct 14 HubSpot raises the minimum TLS version for hosted domains from 1.0 or 1.1 to 1.2. Only accounts that once picked an older version in domain security settings are affected, since new accounts already default to 1.2. No action is needed, and HubSpot does not expect visitors to notice.

🧑‍🏫 Free Agent Hub coaching for admins on Oct 20. HubSpot Academy is running a one-hour small group coaching session on Oct 20, led by a HubSpot product manager. It covers an overview of Agent Hub, real agentic automation use cases and a full build of a custom agent in Agent Builder. It is aimed at admins, operations leads and workflow users, and seats are limited.
