The Daily Spotter

Hello there. If your team in North America lost most of Friday afternoon to HubSpot errors, it was not you: a network problem took tools down for over three hours. Also today: one sequence that speaks to each role, a live Breeze walkthrough next week and the gaps users want closed in workflows, reporting and AI access.

In today’s newsletter, we’ll get into:

  • Many North American customers could not reach HubSpot.com and various tools for over three hours on Friday because of network connectivity issues, now resolved.
  • A community guide shows how to store role and industry pain points in custom properties and use them as tokens, so one sequence reads differently for each buyer.
  • HubSpot runs a live 60-minute session on Oct 28 showing Breeze Assistant and its agents taking a campaign idea all the way to a signed quote.

MONEY & OPS

🚨 HubSpot was down for many North American users on Friday. From 11:28 AM to 2:43 PM EDT on Oct 23, many customers in North America had trouble reaching HubSpot.com and various tools, which HubSpot traced to underlying network connectivity issues. The incident is marked resolved. If emails, workflows or forms looked odd that afternoon, check the incident timeline before you start debugging your own setup.

🗑️ Delete greyed out on a free account? A Super Admin on a free portal cannot delete single records or run a bulk delete after a bad import. A community expert says super admins should be able to delete on the free tier, calls it a likely bug and suggests checking for tool suspensions or quarantined contacts first. The thread lists the next steps, including asking the Community Team to look into it.

📊 Support teams want a report on tickets marked as spam. Plenty of spam still slips past HubSpot's filters, and one team's agents manually mark a large share of it even after an automation closes the rest. They have asked for a way to report on manually marked spam separately, so they can see how much agent time it eats. Add your vote if your queue looks the same.

GROW & CONVERT

🎯 One sequence, a different pain point for every role. Store a one or two sentence pain point in a custom text property, on the contact for role and on the company for industry, then drop it into your sequence as a personalization token. The guide suggests testing with a bulk edit on a small view, using imports with Prevent property overwrite for one-offs and a workflow that branches on job title for the rest. Read the four-step setup.

🔗 Workflows still cannot link leads to campaigns. One team creates leads from form submissions with workflows to feed its drip programs, but there is no way to associate those leads with the right campaign in the same workflow. That makes campaign reporting hard to trust. If you hit the same wall, back the idea so it climbs the list.

TOOLS & WORKFLOWS

🤖 The Claude connector cannot see comments on activities. HubSpot's connector for Claude reads notes, calls, emails, meetings and tasks, but not the comment threads attached to them. Teams that discuss decisions, follow-ups and mentions in those comments lose that context when they ask Claude about a record, so a new idea asks for read access.

🕷️ Which bots are crawling your HubSpot site? A user wants a native dashboard or exportable log of every bot hitting a HubSpot-hosted site, from Googlebot, Bingbot and Applebot to AI crawlers like GPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot. With AI search sending more traffic, that visibility matters, and the request is open for votes.
