The Daily Spotter

Hello there. HubSpot Academy says your whole database is not a marketing audience, the UNBOUND 2026 message was that customers need the tools they already have to do the work, and community members are asking for small fixes to Mobile Notetaker and Breeze Assistant. Saturday, so a good day to tidy a segment or two.

In today’s newsletter, we’ll get into:

  • HubSpot Academy's newest Short gives a framework for campaign audiences: define the goal, separate fit from intent, add segmentation criteria one at a time and document exclusions.
  • Community members ask for Mobile Notetaker to start from a contact or company record with automatic association, and for a way to delete a single Breeze Assistant artifact.
  • From the UNBOUND 2026 stage, HubSpot's Duncan Lennox said customers need the tools they have to do the work, and HubSpot announced a self-updating CRM and a new Breeze Assistant.

GROW & CONVERT

🎯 HubSpot Academy: your entire database is not a marketing audience. A new HubSpot Academy Short gives a practical framework for picking the audience of your next campaign. You define the goal, separate fit from intent, apply segmentation criteria one at a time, check the audience counts and records after each step, and document your exclusions in the CRM. The Short is a quick refresher if your last send went to everyone in the portal.

MONEY & OPS

🎤 UNBOUND 2026: customers need their tools to do the work. In a post on X, HubSpot says Duncan Lennox, its Chief Product and Technology Officer, brought one idea to the UNBOUND 2026 stage: customers do not need more tools, they need the tools they have to do the work. The post says HubSpot announced a self-updating CRM and a brand-new Breeze Assistant. The post is a short summary, so check HubSpot's own announcements for details.

📅 Acuity Scheduling reportedly syncs into HubSpot as little more than a basic contact. A Reddit user asks whether anyone has Acuity Scheduling syncing properly into HubSpot, saying Zapier and the native options seem to create only basic contacts, with no service categories or real appointment data. One reply says they have fought it for months and calls the native sync a dressed-up contact form. The thread has no fix yet, so check what lands on your records before building reports on it.

🎓 Two learners passed Academy exams but see no award. One learner passed the Inbound Sales certification with 50 out of 60 but cannot download the certificate, and the portal shows the error Exam passed but award not generated. Another passed the Digital Marketing exam a few days ago and sees the same message. Refreshing and logging in again did not help the first, and both ask the Academy team to step in. The second report is still open.

TOOLS & WORKFLOWS

🎙️ An idea asks for Mobile Notetaker to start from a CRM record. A company that hosts many in-person events says the new Mobile Notetaker only captures a recording, so contact associations must be added by hand afterwards, which is cumbersome across 30 meetings in 3 days. They want to start a recording from a contact or company record without an existing meeting, with the meeting associated to that contact and its primary company. The idea is open for votes.

🗑️ Breeze Assistant artifacts cannot be deleted one by one. A community member asks for a way to delete or archive single artifacts made by Breeze Assistant without deleting the whole chat thread. Today the artifact menu offers only view, share, export as PDF or HTML, and Remix, so an artifact generated by mistake stays. The proposal is a Delete or Archive option in the three-dot menu, and the idea is waiting for HubSpot's response.

📎 A German idea asks to filter by attachments in the CRM and in workflows. A user posting in German suggests that both the CRM and workflows should be able to filter by attachments. That would make it easy to find contacts who have received quotes or orders, because those documents are attached to the record. The post is a single feature request with no replies yet, but it describes a gap anyone who tracks quotes through attachments will recognise.
