| | Hello there. Happy Halloween. HubSpot's October developer rollup landed on Friday with four admin-facing changes, from letting ChatGPT, Claude and Copilot read Sensitive Data to tripling the approver cap on deal pipelines. The community spent the day on workflow builder gaps, a Log in as user surprise and how to handle employees who are also customers. In today’s newsletter, we’ll get into: - Super Admins can now let ChatGPT, Claude and Copilot read Sensitive Data properties and engagements in a public beta, read-only and still bound by user permissions.
- Deal pipeline approval stages now take up to 30 approvers instead of 10, and a new Data Model Overview tab is rolling out in Data Management.
- An admin learned that Log in as user still carries admin bypass rights, so locked fields do not grey out the way the user sees them.

| | 🔐 AI connectors can now read Sensitive Data. In a public beta, Super Admins can let ChatGPT, Claude and Copilot read Sensitive Data properties and engagements, while Gemini and the Remote MCP server get engagements only. Access is read-only, users still need the matching CRM permissions, and Highly Sensitive Data stays off limits. Existing connectors must be disconnected and reauthenticated, as the October developer rollup explains. ✅ Deal pipelines now allow 30 approvers. Approval stages on deal pipelines can now include up to 30 approvers, up from 10, which helps teams or subsidiaries that share one pipeline but each need their own sign-off. Set it under Pipeline Rules in the pipeline settings. Every other approval type keeps the 10-approver limit, per the rollup's approvals note. 🧱 A new Overview tab for your data model. Data Management, Data Model is getting an Overview tab that shows data health issues and recommendations, and lets admins create properties, custom objects and pipelines, add association labels, rename objects and resume saved drafts. Quick actions can start a data modeling chat with Breeze. If Breeze is off, the tab stays hidden, according to the Data Model Overview rollout note. 💳 Connected CPQ, billing and payments for Commerce Hub. HubSpot lists its connected quote-to-cash setup as generally available for Commerce Hub Professional and Enterprise. It removes limits on billing schedules, lets one quote create several payable invoices, and walks buyers through payment setup when they accept a quote. | | 🪜 Deal stages that reps actually use. A former HubSpot employee now at a partner agency shares her pipeline rules: name stages after things that happened, like proposal sent, not feelings like hot. Build around how the client's customers buy, require only properties someone will use, and keep stages few. Deals jumping from stage 2 to 9 is a sign of extras. Read the deal stage tips on Reddit. 📞 When reps ignore call tasks, automate around them. A RevOps lead tired of AEs sitting on fresh inbound leads for days built a workflow that sends a Drop Cowboy voicemail drop when a contact stays in New for more than 24 hours. The reps now complain about surprise callbacks. It is a blunt fix for a speed-to-lead problem, and the voicemail drop thread is worth a read. | |

| | 🕵️ Log in as user still sees like an admin. An admin used Log in as user to check a colleague's locked fields and found them still editable. Support explained that the feature keeps the admin's bypass abilities, so fields do not grey out. The admin wants a true impersonation mode to see exactly what a user sees. Back the request in the impersonation idea. 👥 Employees who are also customers. A community member asks how to handle staff whose personal emails sync in from Salesforce as customers, with Workday planned as the employee source of truth. Should they be one contact with a role property or two records, and how do you stop syncs from merging them? A moderator pointed to property access limits and duplicate management in the employees as customers thread. 📮 Sequences from a shared Outlook mailbox. A team has its shared Outlook sales mailbox connected to HubSpot, but sequences still send from each rep's own address and replies go back to them. They want sends from the sales address with shared replies, tracking and automatic unenrollment, without leaving Marketing Hub Starter. Share workarounds in the shared mailbox question. | |

| | 🔀 The new workflow builder lost a branch combo. Old workflows could branch on a contact field and a segment membership in the same rule. A user says the new workflow builder does not seem to allow that combination. If you rely on it, check before rebuilding, and add your voice to the branch logic idea. 🎫 No segment filter for ticket workflow enrollment. You can build a segment of contacts or companies enrolled in a given workflow to monitor it, but that filter does not exist for tickets yet. A Service Hub user is asking for it in the ticket enrollment idea. 🗒️ Tana joins the HubSpot Marketplace. The new Tana listing says it updates HubSpot from Google Meet, Zoom and Microsoft Teams calls with a full summary and changes to contacts, companies, tasks and deals, without a visible bot in the meeting. Details are on the Tana marketplace listing. | |
