The Daily Spotter

Hello there. HubSpot rebuilt its Starter plan around AI agents, a RevOps pro let Claude audit a real pipeline and found the ugly bits, and someone finally asked whether cold email is allowed. Midweek reading for anyone who has to explain the CRM to a boss.

In today’s newsletter, we’ll get into:

  • HubSpot's refreshed Starter plan adds Data Agent, Prospecting Agent, Notetaker, deal pipeline automation and Payments, with agents billed in HubSpot Credits.
  • Claude's /crm-autopilot audit of a live HubSpot portal flagged deals with no stage, stale open deals and duplicate contacts, but wrote nothing without approval.
  • Ideas ask for a branded Notetaker bot avatar and required fields on portal signup, while two new Marketplace apps pitch AI reporting and lead capture.

GROW & CONVERT

🔍 A Claude audit of a live HubSpot pipeline found the messy parts. One user ran Claude's new /crm-autopilot workflow on their own portal and posted what it flagged: a live deal with no pipeline or stage, a past-due deal with no signed copy in email, a duplicate contact with a typo domain, and empty next-step fields on all 11 open deals. It proposed fixes and drafts but wrote nothing until approved, which the author worries becomes a blind click once it runs daily.

✉️ Can you send personalized cold email from HubSpot? A user has found conflicting advice on whether HubSpot allows outbound cold email and wants to know what the real policy is. They are not trying to spam anyone, only to stay inside their company's terms. The thread is a good place to share what your account rep has told you, and to check the current acceptable use policy before you build a sequence.

MONEY & OPS

🤖 Teams want their own logo on the Notetaker bot avatar. When the HubSpot Notetaker joins a Zoom, Meet or Teams call it always shows the default HubSpot image, and some guests do not recognize it, or they remove it. An Ideas post asks for an upload field with account-level control for Super Admins, an optional per-team override, and a custom display name. If your team uses the Notetaker on customer calls, it is worth a vote.

🚪 Service Pro portal signup only asks for an email. Right now a customer can register for a Service Pro support portal with just an email address. A team wants to require first name, last name and company so each new user lands on the right company record and their tickets are not orphaned. It is a short request, but it touches clean data and support routing, so agencies running portals for clients may want to back it.

🧭 Is now the time for a solo HubSpot consultant to start an agency? A solo RevOps consultant with healthy recurring clients asks whether building an agency or joining one makes sense when AI is shrinking execution work and clients expect more for less. They want to hear from people who moved between solo and agency work, and whether small specialist teams or in-house AI will squeeze the middle. Useful reading if you are weighing the same choice.

TOOLS & WORKFLOWS

📊 Jumpe turns HubSpot data into reports and slide decks. A newly listed Marketplace app, Jumpe, connects to HubSpot and uses AI to build analytics, dashboards, reports and presentations from CRM, pipeline and activity data. The listing is brief, so test it on a sandbox before pointing it at live deals. It could save time if your month-end reporting still means exporting CSVs into slides by hand.

🎯 Syft sends website and campaign intent into HubSpot as leads. Another new listing, Syft by Syft Data, says it turns website and campaign intent signals into HubSpot-ready leads. The short description does not explain how leads are scored or deduplicated, so check that before it touches your contact database. Marketers with messy lead capture could see if it fits alongside their existing forms.

SHIPPED

🚀 HubSpot's Starter plan gets a big AI refresh. HubSpot says the refreshed Starter plan now includes personalized onboarding, Data Agent and Prospecting Agent, AI Meeting Prep, Notetaker, deal pipeline automation, HubSpot Payments with a Revenue Agent for invoice reminders, and contact and company automation. The agents use HubSpot Credits, so small teams should check usage before switching them on.
